Ontario sets the price: $2,076 a month basic, $2,504 semi-private, $3,002 private in 2026. Placement runs through Ontario Health atHome, not through the home itself, and you apply to a list of up to five homes.

The rate is fixed but the wait is not. Median waits across the GTA run 9 to 18 months, and most families pay privately for care during it.
