Reviews and verification
Most directories let anyone review anything and quietly remove what providers complain about. Here is what we do instead.
Last updated September 1, 2026. When this changes materially we say so on the page rather than quietly amending it.
Who can leave a review
Only a family with a booking confirmed through Seniorcarez. We know the booking happened, we know which provider, and we know roughly how much care was delivered — all three appear on the review.
One review per family per provider per six months. This stops both a disgruntled reviewer posting weekly and a provider farming positives from a single happy client.
What we publish
- Every review from a confirmed booking, including the one-star ones.
- The reviewer's first name, last initial, relationship and city — enough to be credible, not enough to identify a vulnerable person's address.
- What they booked and when, so you can weigh a review of two weeks of respite differently from one of fourteen months of daily care.
What we remove
Reviews are removed for naming a caregiver in a way that identifies them, for containing a third party's health information, for abuse or discrimination, or where we find evidence of fabrication.
A review is never removed because the provider objects to it, threatens us, or pays us. A provider who asks us to remove a genuine negative review gets a note on their listing recording that they asked.
How providers can respond
Publicly, once, under the review. They can correct a factual error, explain what changed, or apologise. They cannot contact the reviewer through us, and they cannot see contact details they were not given.
Verification
Every provider's licence, registration or incorporation is checked against the relevant registry before they go live, and re-checked every six months. 22 of 22 current listings are licence-verified; 22 have confirmed vulnerable-sector police checks on file for all client-facing staff.
A licence that lapses hides the listing that day. It does not get a grace period — a family searching today is not served by a listing that was accurate in March.
- Licence or professional registration, checked against the issuing body.
- Liability insurance, current certificate on file.
- Vulnerable-sector police checks for client-facing staff, attested annually by the provider and spot-audited.
- Rate card re-confirmed every 30 days. A rate we cannot confirm is hidden rather than shown stale.
Badges are earned, never bought
Licence verified, Insured, Background-checked staff, Dementia-trained, Prices published, Responds within 2 hours, Top rated. Each has a rule behind it and each is removed the moment the rule stops being met.
A provider who does not publish prices cannot earn Top rated, and is ranked below priced listings when everything else is equal. Transparency is the product, so it is also the incentive.
Reporting a concern
If a provider contacted you without permission, billed something other than the posted rate, or you are worried about the quality of care, tell us. Serious concerns about care of a vulnerable adult are also reported to the relevant regulator — we will tell you when we do that.
